New Years Kiss is OUT: New Years Nyquil shots are IN- Week 44 (1/6/2020)

Happy New Years everybody!

This week I got better but Elder Fonseca got sick hahaha, so we had a take it easy week #2 as he tried to get better. We havent slept well in almost 2 weeks now because every night we're just up with the cough, but hey, things are getting better.

This week, not too much happened.
We have an investigator here, (I say investigator but hes been "investigating" for over 30 years now)  and he is such an awesome guy. Hes just super kind and is always helping out missionaries. Well, this week we went and helped him! He is an antiques collector, and the closet in his room was just chock full of random stuff. So, since elder fonseca needed a bit of a break that day, we stopped by and helped Luther to take everything out and organize it. It was a BLAST, and he gave us a ton of stuff that we totally didnt need but that we took anyways.
[For example, he had some random candle from an event somewhere that was super fancy and it smelled really good so he gave it to us and WE TOOK IT. We literally cant even burn candles in our apartment so I have no idea what we're going to do with it.]

Besides that, we drove to Corpus Christi TWICE this week to take Elder Fonseca to the doctor.

We also had church yesterday and literally everyone who usually comes was sick, so that led to the total attendance at church being a whopping 4 people, including my companion and I.

However, we did set a baptismal date for this coming Saturday with one of our investigators! It was super awesome and we were really excited since lowkey we've felt kind of useless up here lately.

Vickie, (chloe's mom) sent me a book titled "Insights From a Prophets Life" about the life of President Nelson. I loved it so much, and I read it in one day when Fonseca was sick earlier this week.
I learned a lot from it.
Some fast observations:
1) "My belief is that we should stop putting question marks behind the prophets statements and start putting exclamation points!" -Russell M Nelson
He said this maybe 20, 30 years ago? But it really resonated with me because maybe we should stop just saying, "is this teaching from the prophets and apostles for me?" and just start saying, " I'm going to apply this as best I can!"
2) The only way God can bless us is through our obedience to laws that he has given us. Absolute obedience is the only way to be able to expect miracles. You cant expect prayer to make up for disobedience for example.
3) The Lord is willing to bless us and has given us things such as the priesthood for, " when all man can do for himself may not be sufficient."

I want you all to be excited about the opportunity we have to read the Book Of Mormon this year for Come, Follow Me!
I invite you all to stay up to date with the reading schedule and to really commit yourself. Read the beginning promises that have been made if we read the book by our prophets and apostles.
You'll find that your life will be blessed.

I love you all.
I wish you the best.
And send your prayers this week to Cosy, my cousin, please. I'm doing pretty well up here in Sinton; I have good health, a strong body, a happy companion, and a loving family, girlfriend, and other loved ones. I couldnt possibly expect or ask for more.
Talk to you soon,
Elder Reginato
