Week #101

A Perfect Brightness of Hope by Scott Sligting 101 weeks. 707 days. 16,968 hours. Is that a long time? Some days I would answer yes. Some days I would answer yes a little less quick. Some days I MIGHT even say no, that it really isn't that long. Because, at the end of any given period of time you don't remember everything, solely the few moments that burned themselves into your memory.  Things like  Debating about calling CPS on a family with 4 children, Holding a bucket for an alcoholic to throw up into, Seeing a grandma have a stroke and narrowly avoid hitting your car before crashing, The first time you walk into a trailer that houses a family of 10 that's the size of your living room at home, Hearing the cries of someone who just got the phonecall for a loved one's death. 101 weeks is not a long time after all, actually. But some moments seemed to last an eternity. "[T]he time passed away with us, and also our lives passed away like as it were unto us a dream.....

I'm a Dummy Head- Week 99

Lift Up the Hands That Hang Down,  by J. Kirk Richards   Where I am is called ROBSTOWN, not RAYMONDVILLE lol [That's where I was like 8 months ago] As of right now I only have 2 pdays left... This mission has gone by so fast. I think back to my first day in the MTC, hurriedly pulling my suitcases along uneven sidewalk in the middle of Mexico City... my shoulder hurt because I hadn't worked it out in a long time haha. Today we drove to Corpus, sold some couches we had in our apartment. I felt so, old[?] as we drove by the beach side again. I saw the Portland bridge that I would drive on almost weekly when I was in Sinton a year ago.  My mission President and close mission friends tell me that I've changed a lot since then. I wonder what it was that influenced me to change. I feel less focused on material things... less focused on trivial things... I want to help others more, dedicate less time to myself. I'm excited to grow older and start a family, something that stress...

The Lord's Errand, by Kate Lee   This place reminds me so much of Sinton haha!! It's awesome to be with a companion who I already love. I dont have too much to say besides be patient, love others without waiting for a reason, and just be kind. I love you all!!!!!! Message me whenever!! E.Reginato

Last Time Around- Week 96

Not By Bread Alone...by Michael Dudash Hey Everyone!! Not a TON has happened (okay a little bit) but here I am, on my last transfer! In 5 weeks I'm headed back home. It's really crazy to think that all this has happened so fast, but here it is. Transfers happened on tuesday, and for my last transfer I actually came back up here to the North!!! I'm in Robstown right now, and get this: IM WITH ELDER CANNEGIETER AGAIN!! I've never even heard of someone going back with a missionary that they trained, but President let it happen haha. We've had a ton of fun. He actually got covid a few weeks ago, so as a precaution I didnt actually get here until this last Friday, but it's still been a bit of a roller coaster. I loved all the people in my last area. In particular, my family of recent converts that I helped baptize. I miss them a lot. I'm so happy for the opportunity I had to be able to help them progress on the covenant path. I love seeing the changes that come...

A Prodigal Son?- Week 92 (12/14/20)

Why, hello!  Long time no talk. I'm alive. I love you all. November was great. We had the wonderful opportunity of baptizing San juanita and her daughters, [a family of 6], and it was absolutely amazing. Theyve come to church every week since then, and we go over at least 2 times a week haha... they're basically my little sisters at this point. Our zone broke a watermark! Things were readjusted as a lot of our zone ended up changing, both areas and people, and so we broke the new watermark!! It was very exciting. I can't believe that I'm already in December. I'm at 22 months! I'm so old. We've done a lot of exchanges with other missionaries, and suffice it to say, I'm shocked sometimes when I think of how far I've come. Many of the members of our zone are greenies [missionaries with between 0 and 12 weeks of experience] and being able to teach and talk with them makes me ponder and think a lot. A few of them will sit down and ask me questions about t...
