Some Maintenance Required- Week 50 (2/24/2020)

Precious Above All by Annie Henrie So. How has everyone been this week? I hope well. If not, rip, and just remember that things will get better soon. Well, Sinton is a tiny area. Honestly the church presence here is like 2 (two) families that make up the "group" and then the investigators that we bring to church. Honestly, my comp and I have basically doubled the attendance. It's kinda crazy sometimes when I think about how when I was home, I always just expected like everyone to just show up. 100+ every week and I was like "this is normal." Anyways. This week we talked to a lot of people who had connections to our recent converts, and we actually picked up like ALL of Brandon's (our last baptism) family! They're super cool. His wife even came to church and brought her Grandma! Lol her grandma only spoke spanish so my comp and I had to do everything in english AND spanish for church which was a ton of fun. But, this week really has been a ...

I Never Send Pictures So Here Are Some- Week 49 (2/17/2020

Nothing SUPER crazy this week. We had another baptism! It was AWESOME. Brandon is so prepared and he is just excited to go to the temple. We're going to start teaching his family soon, so that's AWESOME X2. President literally interviewed my companion asking why we're having so much success because I told pres I didnt know why, so that's a thing. Apparently Sinton has never been this successful, which is kind of sad I guess, but sick for us! Anyways.... Here are some pictures!!!! Love you all, be safe, have fun!!!! Pics. 1. The fake 10 commandments lol courtesy of the Catholic church 2. Brandon!!! 3. Jazell!!! 4. Me and the beach in rockport lol 5. Salt lake 😭😭😭😭

How a Baptismal Interview changed into a 3 Day Exchange: A short novel- Week 48 (2/10/2020)

Sinton Sunset Hi everyone! This week was CRAZY! Tuesday. We had transfers! I'm staying (woot) with Elder De Leon here in Sinton! That day our car battery also died in the morning so we had to go down to Corpus Christi to get a new battery. It took a ton of time but it was pretty funny. We ended the night with the family home evening we always have, and we decided to have everyone watch Joseph Smith, the Prophet of the Restoration. It's an awesome movie! I think it's interesting when people say we "worship" Joseph Smith. Do they "worship" Saint Paul? Saint Peter? No, no one worships a prophet. Just kidding some people do but it's not actually our religion lol, which some people really dont seem to understand. Wednesday. Overall, not bad. We were able to see some of the Presidential Impeachment with an investigator, as well as go out to dinner with another. We taught some lessons, some people, and we ended up having dinner with someone t...

Baptism #4- Week 47 (2/3/2020)

Image
There we go! This week was pretty good! We had another baptism! It was a PROCESS and it was really fun but unfortunately it was just the daughter of this family we're teaching. There are 3 more and they're all going to be baptized soon so we're SUPER pumped. We had a member of the 70 come down! Our meeting was awesome and I got to play another musical number! It was such a blast and the Sister who sang is so talented, I wish I would've been able to get a recording of her voice. We'll probably do another musical number so I'll record it that time. Um what else. Elder De Leon and I have been having a pretty good time. Things are pretty successful, we should have 6 baptisms this month total and they're all pretty solid so let's go. I'm having a super good time! I'm loving it up here so far, and the only thing I'd request are more naps. I love you all! Be safe, and have fun! -Elder Reginato

"What did you have for dinner? You better not say salad. I hate that word. If you say it, I will ignore you."- Week 45 (1/13/2020)

Lehi’s Dream, by Steven Lloyd Neal Hi all! Short email this week. I had my first family home evening up here in Sinton! We had like triple the attendance of our usual sacrament meetings which blew my mind. We also played family feud with a member family after we had dinner, that was a blast. Am I intelligent? I like to think so. But when the question is, "name a precious gem or stone." and i blurt out, "Garnet." even I must doubt my own ability at least a little bit. We set ANOTHER BD this week, although we had to move the one from last week back. :( The good news is that we should have 2 baptisms this Saturday. Also, we finally committed one of the boys here to serve! We got him to set a date, text the bishop, and everything. It felt really nice. Not too much else. We had some funny moments, some tiring ones, everything in between! I've decided to read the entire book of Mormon at least once every month this year. We'll see how I do. So f...

New Years Kiss is OUT: New Years Nyquil shots are IN- Week 44 (1/6/2020)

Image
Happy New Years everybody! This week I got better but Elder Fonseca got sick hahaha, so we had a take it easy week #2 as he tried to get better. We havent slept well in almost 2 weeks now because every night we're just up with the cough, but hey, things are getting better. This week, not too much happened. We have an investigator here, (I say investigator but hes been "investigating" for over 30 years now)  and he is such an awesome guy. Hes just super kind and is always helping out missionaries. Well, this week we went and helped him! He is an antiques collector, and the closet in his room was just chock full of random stuff. So, since elder fonseca needed a bit of a break that day, we stopped by and helped Luther to take everything out and organize it. It was a BLAST, and he gave us a ton of stuff that we totally didnt need but that we took anyways. [For example, he had some random candle from an event somewhere that was super fancy and it smelled really ...
