How a Baptismal Interview changed into a 3 Day Exchange: A short novel- Week 48 (2/10/2020)

Sinton Sunset

Hi everyone!
This week was CRAZY!

Tuesday.
We had transfers! I'm staying (woot) with Elder De Leon here in Sinton! That day our car battery also died in the morning so we had to go down to Corpus Christi to get a new battery. It took a ton of time but it was pretty funny.
We ended the night with the family home evening we always have, and we decided to have everyone watch Joseph Smith, the Prophet of the Restoration. It's an awesome movie!
I think it's interesting when people say we "worship" Joseph Smith. Do they "worship" Saint Paul? Saint Peter? No, no one worships a prophet. Just kidding some people do but it's not actually our religion lol, which some people really dont seem to understand.

Wednesday.
Overall, not bad. We were able to see some of the Presidential Impeachment with an investigator, as well as go out to dinner with another. We taught some lessons, some people, and we ended up having dinner with someone too which was awesome.
We went to like a discount chuck a Rama.

Thursday-Friday-Saturday
Okay so real quick I guess.
We decided to go and do an exchange over in Rockport which was a blast. Halfway through, we get a call.
Theres going to be an EMERGENCY TRANSFER. AH.
An Elder didnt have a license but was driving anyways (dummy head) so he was transferred to Laredo! My comp drove him, so what was supposed to be a one day exchange (with the purpose of murdoch conducting a baptismal interview) turned into a 3 day long exchange while my comp drove 5 hours one day to the other side of the mission to pick up that Elder's replacement, and then the next day drove back.
I'm also the new district leader!
So that's hype.

Saturday.
We had a baptism for Jazell, the 9 year old daughter of a less active here, and that was awesome! Lowkey it was a huge struggle because of timing and suit complications!
We ended up finding one though, and that's awesome, we had a sick baptism that I was able to perform.

Sunday.
We had church!
We had an attendance of 21, much different than my first weeks with 4 people.
It's been awesome.

Something that I talked for a while about with Elder Garcia is how, like it says in D&C 88, if you cant do the things you need to, you wont get the rewards that those who are willing to do them will get.
Remember that.
If you arent willing to do what you need to do, then you wont make it to the same place where the people who ARE willing to do what they need to do will be.
That applies to everything; church, life, business, anything.

Love you all,
Be safe,
Have fun!
-Elder Reginato
