Piano time- Week 3 Update (3/27/19)

Image
So Wednesdays have definitely become a favorite day around here:) I usually start the day with an email from Isa, and then we get to text throughout the day which is awesome! He has officially passed the halfway mark at the MTC, he heads out to Texas on April 15th! He really loves getting messages so here is his email in case anyone needs it: isaiah.reginato@missionary.org His update: Hey everyone! This week has been pretty good, and overall it flew by really fast. Umm not too much has happened but I've got a few stories I guess Literally last P day, after our day had ended and we went back to the room, I went to the bathroom like any normal person, and as I was sitting out of the corner of my eye I saw this monster. I'm proud to say that I responded adequately.  I got up and ran outside yelling for someone to come kill it. :) (The sucker was big okay don't judge me) Um this week I practiced a lot because last night I performed piano at the d...

First Real Update!! Traffic is wild- (3/20/19)

Today we finally got to talk to Isa, after a disappointing misfire last week:( It was so great to see him smiling and laughing, and we got to "meet" his cute companion, Elder Fowler. Here is a picture of his chatting away: Here is the email he sent: Well, this is my first big email I guess! My first two weeks here haven't been too bad. Tbh I've had a bit of trouble going to sleep, so I've been pretty tired here haha. But the CCM (MTC) is really nice! We have a pretty strict schedule, so that's kinda annoying, but overall it's been really cool. Okay to start off. The airplane ride over was alright, and my first day at the CCM was pretty uneventful I think. My companion while I'm at here is Elder Fowler, hes from South Carolina, and he's pretty funny, we get along well. We share a room with Elders Mandarino and Bean, and they're alright, but pretty funny. Our first night, the woke up at 4:30 (yes in the morning) and the...

Quick Arrival Update (3/5/19)

The missionaries were allowed to quickly email parents to let them know they had made it to the MTC safe and sound. We were thrilled to get this brief message from Isa: Hey Mom! I just made it to the MTC, everything went alright, although we couldn't watch any movies or anything on the flight. :( Today has been super interesting and busy and just really cool! I miss you guys a ton, and I wish our goodbye hadn't been rushed haha! My P-day is on wednesday, so I think I should be able to message you guys then. My branch number is 10, and my district letter is A? Whatever that means haha.  Well, I'll talk to you guys soon, they just wanted us to make sure you knew we were alright. I love you all, and message me whenever you can! PS, please let chloe know I made it and that I miss and love her too That's all,  See you wednesday! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Jus...

Getting on a Jet Plane... (3/5/19)

Image
We dropped Isa off at the SLC airport around 8am and were rushed to say one last goodbye as he got sucked into the security line. It was probably for the best, like yanking off a BandAid, cause who knows how long we would have hugged and cried had we been allowed to. We didn't even get a picture with all seven of us, so these will have to do: Mom, Isa, and Dad Josh, Julie, Nate, Isa, and Ethan Last picture in front of the house, Isa looks understandably nervous... Siblings helping wheel the suitcases The airport was PACKED!! Isa was annoyed haha! One second we were all together, next second he's yanked into the security line as an airport lady scolds us (and other missionary families) for hugging goodbye in the wrong area... Once in line these two immediately introduced themselves to each other, it was cute. One last wave to the teary moms left behind. I love that this was my last view of my wonderful son Isaiah for two years. Happy, conf...

Becoming Elder Reginato (3/4/19)

Image
We had a beautiful setting apart meeting the night before Isa left. Our Stake Presidency bore their testimonies and then set Isaiah apart as a full time missionary called to serve for 24 months in the Spanish-speaking Texas McAllen Mission. Needless to say it was an emotional night as everyone said their official goodbyes. Thanks Abuelo for the picture since I didn't think to take any...
