I am OFFICIALLY an adult- Week 11 (5/20/19)

You may be saying, "Elder Reginato, you're literally 19."  And I would respond with, "Well yes, that is true. But guess what my favorite cereal is now."  And you'd say, "What is it." And I would respond with, "Honey Bunches of Oats. Preferably with strawberries." And you would gasp and say, "Why do you eat old people cereal?" But it's true, I love honey bunches of oats lol. Hopefully you're all doing well! We've been having a good week. It was Elder Wrights bday this week so I took him out to Texas Roadhouse one day for dinner, it was really nice to be able to eat out. In terms of our investigators it's been going well overall! We've had to drop SO many of our families since we've been here... it's a little disheartening but we're just going to keep going! During studies I found a new scripture verse that I've put on my wall.  It's in 2 Timothy chapter 2 verse 10 an...

Absolutely NO fricks, hecks, darns, dangs...- Week 10 (5/13/19)

Apparently when people say hello they'll sometimes lead with "Buenas" into a situation. For example. Answering the phone. Or that's also how we say hi if like a door is open or something, so that's cool. But anyways that's a long explanation for the fact that I was going to start this email with Buenas. Buenas. This week has been alright overall. They kind of blend together, which is funny because I've only been out for TWO MONTHS. (Let's go!) What else. Um we've been doing pretty well teaching, lots of weird people down here. This week was big on people trying to kind of flirt with us, big yikes I know. I guess my eyes are just too pretty. Hm. We met a family that the mom just had a divorce and she has SEVENTEEN KIDS.  SEVENTEEN. So many, honestly kind of ridiculous. They're doing good overall though, they came to a family home evening last week which was really cool. It was kind of hard teaching becau...

Apparently I'm An Apostle Now, So That's Cool.- Week 9 (5/6/19)

So when Isa doesn't send a picture I'm just adding some awesome artwork I've come across during the week:) This one is called Sunshine in My Soul, by Yongsung Kim  Isa's Email: Sup. Nothing new really! I'm just here in northern Mexico, where it's basically the temperature and climate of a hotel bathroom right after you step out of the shower.  :) Lol honestly it's not that bad, though there are sometimes where we're in a house without air conditioning or any air circulation and I feel like I'm in a sauna, so that's cool. Overall the food is good. The members and people here are so nice. A lot of people here are living very, very humbly, but they're still kind. I remember just a few days ago we stopped by an older man who was a recent convert, and he was showing us this massive painting he found in a pile of trash from some people renovating a building, and it was super pretty. The painting was of a nice blue sky a...

Yee haw- Week 8 (4/29/19)

Image
Yippy kae ay from the land of yee haw. Just kidding this place is basically northern Mexico honestly. Not too much happened this week honestly! A lot of people were talking about End Game Haha, so that's been fun to kinda hear about. Our investigators are doing really well and we've even already set some baptismal dates! I'll make sure to keep y'all updated on how things are going though. This weeks reminder is in Luke 22: 31-34 This is where christ tells Peter that he needs to be weary of satan, and then Peter tells Christ he'll never ever leave him. Christ responds by saying that Peter will literally deny even knowing him three times before that day is even over. I think the lesson we learn here is that sometimes satan, or even ourselves sometimes, convinces us that we're doing better or that we're further along the path of progression than we think. Sometimes we need to sit back and realize that we've still got a lot to do, a...

Reest, far, apostate, and trunky- Week 7 (4/22/19)

Image
Hey everyone! I already wrote this email once but it was deleted instead of sending for some reason so that's cool. :)) It's been a bit since I've been able to have a pday, almost two weeks. Um not too much happened at the MTC I dont think, but our flight over was a bit wild. In the airport, the first people we tried to talk to were "Testigos de Jehova" which was awesome. (Jehovahs witnesses) the next person we tried to talk to was atheist. And the third person who elder Allred and hermana blotter tried to talk to on the airplane was actually a catholic priest of over 50 years so that was just SO awesome. When we got here, it was funny talking to people who haven't really had any outside contact for a year or two. The title of this email is some missionary lingo lol, Trunky is someone who keeps wanting to go home or is super homesick/doesn't really want to be on a mission. Reesty/reest is like timewaste/timewaster; like a person who i...
