Reest, far, apostate, and trunky- Week 7 (4/22/19)
Hey everyone!
I already wrote this email once but it was deleted instead of sending for some reason so that's cool. :))
It's been a bit since I've been able to have a pday, almost two weeks.
Um not too much happened at the MTC I dont think, but our flight over was a bit wild.
In the airport, the first people we tried to talk to were "Testigos de Jehova" which was awesome. (Jehovahs witnesses) the next person we tried to talk to was atheist.
And the third person who elder Allred and hermana blotter tried to talk to on the airplane was actually a catholic priest of over 50 years so that was just SO awesome.
When we got here, it was funny talking to people who haven't really had any outside contact for a year or two.
The title of this email is some missionary lingo lol,
Trunky is someone who keeps wanting to go home or is super homesick/doesn't really want to be on a mission.
Reesty/reest is like timewaste/timewaster; like a person who isn't doing what they're supposed to.
Far is when someone is like lowkey being wild, or like isn't doing something they should. Eg "yo you're far man"
Apostate is basically how you describe anything that isn't approved for missionaries lol, so like apostate music, apostate books, apostate clothes you know.
Texas has been so different than utah.
There really are pretty much just a bunch of Mexicans/Latinos here.
A lot of the areas we've been going to are poorer areas, things like trailer parks or motor homes.
It's been a little not necessarily eye opening, but interesting seeing how people live.
There are also sooooo many dogs just like chilling all around.
Some people have like 8 or 9 dogs, its wild.
Hm what else did I have.
Our days are basically just spent knocking doors, trying to make appointments, and then returning to those appointments haha.
The ward here is super super nice.
The people are great, and we actually have at least one meal with a member a day, its great.
I miss my fam's food but the homemade food here isn't too bad.
My companion is really cool.
Elder Wright is from Idaho, he's been here on his mission for close to 20-21 months now, so I'll probably be his last companion.
He's funny, and I think we work pretty well together.
He really likes basketball Haha so that's something we do when we can.
I cant really think of anything else but let me know if any of you want to know anything!
I miss all y'all, and I hope everything's going well.
Pray always, and always try to have a better day than you did yesterday!
Sinceramente,
Elder Reginato
