First Real Update!! Traffic is wild- (3/20/19)
Today we finally got to talk to Isa, after a disappointing misfire last week:( It was so great to see him smiling and laughing, and we got to "meet" his cute companion, Elder Fowler. Here is a picture of his chatting away:
Here is the email he sent:
Well, this is my first big email I guess!
My first two weeks here haven't been too bad.
Tbh I've had a bit of trouble going to sleep, so I've been pretty tired here haha.
But the CCM (MTC) is really nice! We have a pretty strict schedule, so that's kinda annoying, but overall it's been really cool.
Okay to start off.
The airplane ride over was alright, and my first day at the CCM was pretty uneventful I think.
My companion while I'm at here is Elder Fowler, hes from South Carolina, and he's pretty funny, we get along well.
We share a room with Elders Mandarino and Bean, and they're alright, but pretty funny.
Our first night, the woke up at 4:30 (yes in the morning) and then decided to do some pushups in the room and then go on a run and take showers and stuff.
It was super loud and it woke both me and my companion up but it was kinda funny.
I don't really have my journal with me but overall it hasn't been too eventful here!
It's really pretty, and super super hot.
Our schedule is pretty strict, which I've never been a huge fan of, because it limits what I can really do with my time, especially during free time and stuff.
Um one day during gym time we were playing fusbol (elder Fowler and i) and this elder from Haiti came and absolutely destroyed us, just by himself.
The next game we played and he faced both of us again but he used one hand only.
We barely won, by like one point or something haha, it was wild.
Oooohhh yeah on the drive from the airport to the CCM the first day, I saw a billboard that showed a subway sandwich and said "$35!" And I was low-key about to freak out but then I remembered that I was in Mexico and they use pesos haha
The traffic here is ridiculous.
Basically no one follows any rules and it's everyone for themselves.
There are literally people who just chill in the street and will like offer to sell food or wash your windows or whatever.
There are like people just crossing like super busy intersections or just standing in the middle, it's wild.
Both of my two pdays so far I've gone to the temple, which has been pretty nice.
I've been able to do it in Spanish, which is really cool.
Today during the actually main endowment session I really felt the spirit at some parts, and I felt the prompting to study some things some more.
I've been reading in first Nephi, as well as in Abraham and in revelations a little bit.
About Spanish, I'm doing pretty well but they're really kinda adamant about you working on it on your own, and then they help you afterwards.
I miss everybody back home and hope you're all doing well! Feel free to email me and I'll do my best to respond to everyone individually.
Love all of you,
Elder Reginato
ps here are some pictures I guess

Wow! Thanks for the update ❤️ it sounds like he is doing well. I remember the strict schedule bugging me too haha, but then you get used to it. And his comment about driving in Mexico cracks me up. Glad he likes his companion.
