Book Are Pretty Cool- Week 21 (7/29/19)
Joseph and Hyrum Smith
Amid dead memes and assorted accidental naps, this week was good!
Sister Willardson has some SUPPERRR good memes that she gets from her sister, it's been refreshing to have that little bit of normality again.
Um, this week I've also been VERY tired, and I may have fallen asleep during Spanish study....
I think it's because we've been getting up at 6 everyday now to be able to study half an hour extra.
Cuz we have too much to learn and not enough time haha.
Alright, I'll try to keep this email short, but this week overall there were a few really cool parts.
A) we made brownies. :)
B) during a lesson we had, we asked the investigator to read a scripture. The Spirit was so strong that she couldnt even get halfway through before she started crying. It was really touching because she just laughed and apologized and said, "I have no idea what's happening."
...
We knew what was happening lol.
C) I finished Jesus the Christ and then started and also finished Saints! Both of which were absolutely amazing.
I think what I got out of Saints the most was the knowledge of how much has been sacrificed for what we are able to have today.
Something our mission president said a few weeks ago at a conference we had, was that we cannot be afraid to preach about the Book of Mormon.
Too much was sacrificed for us to be fearful or ashamed of it.
Moroni spent YEARS hiding, running, living alone- The blood of Joseph and Hyrum Smith was spilled brutally and painfully- Saints were literally FORCED out of their own houses by violence, in the cold and in the dark, oftentimes having less than a few years in the church...
All this, and we cant share something from the Book of Mormon because it would make us look a little different? Because someone would judge?
Absolutely not.
This week I would say my testimony about that has changed very strongly.
Everyone, be safe, have fun, I love you all so very much!
I wish you the very best,
Pray as often as you can.
