A Whole Lotta Mumbo Jumbo- Week 20 (7/22/19)

"The Call" by Jorge Cocco Santangelo

So.
Hi.
I have been absolutely HORRID at keeping up in my journal this week so I kinda dont really remember what happened or when it happened! Sorry!!!

I'll just relate the pieces I do remember:
-We did some yard work service for an older sister in the ward this week, it was hot and we biked two miles to get to her house so that was fun :)
-We had a zone conference about better contacting (first meeting people) and it was pretty fun, I shared some stuff and I played piano and it was a good time. For prelude, a sister played cello and another sister played piano with me so that we had a four hand piano improv going with cello accompaniment and it was super extra but a ton of fun.
-Of Monsters And Men (a music group I really like) did an album??? Covering???? Songs?? From??? The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints'??? Hymnbook??? The songs are SOOO good, and it's been so relaxing to listen to them.
-I got my eyebrows waxed today! They look pretty good, not gonna lie, and it didn't even really hurt. :')
-Im going to finish Jesus the Christ really soon!!! I'm almost done and I'm just loving it. I've really liked this end part, going over the apostasy and how the churches that existed after Jesus' death were not able to keep a pure and uncorrupted doctrine for all to understand.
-Someone yesterday tried to convince me that 1) God might be a woman 2) Everything in religion is a lie 3) The samarians started it all (teaching about God) and then the Hebrews changed it all up.
He then finished his talk by giving us sparkling water.
Yikes.
-The other people we've found this week have been a little more mellow and more receptive. :) There are a lot of really nice people down here.

Hm I dont think there's really anything else.
It's hot, like always.
I'll keep better track of what happens next week, I promise!
Be safe everyone, I love all of you, best of luck, and feel free to email me whenever!
-Elder Reginato

How a Baptismal Interview changed into a 3 Day Exchange: A short novel- Week 48 (2/10/2020)

Sinton Sunset Hi everyone! This week was CRAZY! Tuesday. We had transfers! I'm staying (woot) with Elder De Leon here in Sinton! That day our car battery also died in the morning so we had to go down to Corpus Christi to get a new battery. It took a ton of time but it was pretty funny. We ended the night with the family home evening we always have, and we decided to have everyone watch Joseph Smith, the Prophet of the Restoration. It's an awesome movie! I think it's interesting when people say we "worship" Joseph Smith. Do they "worship" Saint Paul? Saint Peter? No, no one worships a prophet. Just kidding some people do but it's not actually our religion lol, which some people really dont seem to understand. Wednesday. Overall, not bad. We were able to see some of the Presidential Impeachment with an investigator, as well as go out to dinner with another. We taught some lessons, some people, and we ended up having dinner with someone t...

Haircuts are cool except they're not- Week 12 (5/27/19)

I'm writing this right after I've gotten a haircut, and it feels like there are bugs all over me (because of the hairs) and it's making me mistype so much haha! I hope it's just hair!! :))))))) (Sooooo sick of the bugs here haha) But hello everyone! I'll keep this one short, this week something happened to my email and it wont show me the emails I got past a certain time this week, so I'll have to respond to everyone personally next week, sorry!!! But yes what to say, We set two new baptismal dates this week, so hopefully the two people (Junior and Ana) will actually keep their commitments and wont fizzle out!!! We're praying for them, and they're both really really cool people. They've been really interested in the things we've been teaching, which is always nice. I'm always happy when I can teach a lesson, I just love the way it makes sense to people who have felt lost in their religion or who just have questions that they cant fin...

"What did you have for dinner? You better not say salad. I hate that word. If you say it, I will ignore you."- Week 45 (1/13/2020)

Lehi’s Dream, by Steven Lloyd Neal Hi all! Short email this week. I had my first family home evening up here in Sinton! We had like triple the attendance of our usual sacrament meetings which blew my mind. We also played family feud with a member family after we had dinner, that was a blast. Am I intelligent? I like to think so. But when the question is, "name a precious gem or stone." and i blurt out, "Garnet." even I must doubt my own ability at least a little bit. We set ANOTHER BD this week, although we had to move the one from last week back. :( The good news is that we should have 2 baptisms this Saturday. Also, we finally committed one of the boys here to serve! We got him to set a date, text the bishop, and everything. It felt really nice. Not too much else. We had some funny moments, some tiring ones, everything in between! I've decided to read the entire book of Mormon at least once every month this year. We'll see how I do. So f...
